Aa General Store

You can find Aa General Store at 6, Matcham Pillai Complex. We are located on Matha Kovil 1st Street in K Pudhur, Madurai. We are quite close to the R.C. School, so we get a lot of noise and energy from the students every afternoon. I started this shop because I wanted to work for myself in my own neighborhood. It’s a basic general store. We sell things like pens, notebooks, snacks, and basic groceries. The morning is usually peaceful until the school bell rings for the first time. Then, throughout the day, parents stop by after dropping their kids off. I spend a lot of time rearranging the small packets of shampoo and the jars of candy. The space in Matcham Pillai Complex is small, so I have to be careful about how I stack things. Sometimes I forget where I put a specific brand of soap, and it takes a minute to find it for a customer. That’s just part of the job. Madurai is a hot city, so the stone floor of the shop feels nice in the summer. I don’t use any fancy computer systems for billing; I still prefer my notebook and a pen. It’s easier that way for me. People from Matha Kovil 1st Street have been coming here for years. We aren’t trying to be a big supermarket. We just want to be the place where you can get what you need without having to go all the way to the main market.
