A1 Builders & Interior

We’ve been running A1 Builders & Interior for a while now here in Madurai. Our office is right at the 7th corner in Mahalakshimi Nagrar, tucked away in Chinna Chokkikulam. If you are driving down the Moondrumavadi to Iyer Bungalow road, you’ve probably passed our sign plenty of times. It’s a busy spot but we like it here. Most days are just spent dealing with cement, wood samples, and making sure the guys are on site when they should be. Construction isn't always pretty, to be honest. There is a lot of dust and noise, but that’s just the job. We do both the building part and the inside work, like cupboards and painting. Sometimes people come in with very clear ideas and other times they just want us to handle everything because they are too busy with their own lives. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything, just a workspace where we get things done. It gets quite hot in this part of town, so we try to get most of the heavy outdoor work finished before the afternoon sun really hits. Dealing with different suppliers can be a headache sometimes, but we’ve got our regulars now. We just try to keep things moving so the houses get finished on time. It’s a small team here, just local folks who know how to build. We don't really do much talking, mostly just measuring and checking the levels on the walls to make sure things aren't crooked.
