Indian Granites

I’ve been running Indian Granites on Market Road in Mahadevpet for a while now. If you know this area, you know how busy it gets with the traffic and people coming and going from all the different shops. Our place at 92-6-35 isn't anything fancy, just a yard with a lot of heavy stone slabs leaning against the walls. Most days it’s just me and a couple of others moving things around or cleaning the dust off the granite so people can see the real color underneath. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on the lot, but we’re used to it. People from around Mahadevpet usually stop by when they are fixing up their kitchens or putting in new floors. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a small desk and some chairs where we sit and talk about what’s in stock. Sometimes the shipments come in late and we have to stay late to unload the trucks. The stones come in all different sizes, some have cracks we have to work around and some are perfectly smooth. We just try to show people what we have and let them decide. Usually, they want to touch the stone and see it in the sunlight. It’s a messy business with all the stone dust, but it’s what we do here on Market Road. We just keep the gates open and wait for the next truck to arrive.
