Surykala Lila Kant Smriti Foundation

This foundation is run out of Sushil Kant Mishra’s house in Ward 11. We are located in Raima, which is part of the Madhwapur block in Madhubani. It’s a quiet area mostly. We named it after family members to keep their memory alive. Being in a place like Sharghat, you see people going through a lot of daily struggles. We decided we should do something instead of just watching. It’s not a big corporate thing with a lot of money. It’s just us. We spend our time trying to help the local families. We don’t have a lot of rules about how we work. If someone is in a bad spot, we see what we can do to help them out. Sometimes it’s small stuff, sometimes it takes more effort. We have a lot of neighbors who drop by to help out. The address is 847308 if you are looking for it. We’ve been in this community for a long time, so everyone knows everyone else. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little corner of Madhubani. It gets busy during the rainy season or when things are tough for farmers around here. We just try to stay steady and keep the doors open for anyone who needs a hand. It’s just how we were raised to be. We often sit on the porch and talk to anyone passing by. It helps us stay connected to what is actually happening on the ground. We don't need much to keep going, just enough to help the next person who walks through the gate.
