This branch is out in Birsair village in the Madhubani district of Bihar. It’s a different pace of life here compared to the big cities. We operate out of a space connected to Shri Pramoda Nand Jha’s place. It’s very much a local operation. You won’t find any glass skyscrapers here, just the open air and the local community. We spend our time managing local projects and making sure the supplies get where they need to go. The roads can be a bit rough after the rain, so that usually dictates our schedule. We sit together in the main room and go over what needs doing for the week. There is a lot of talking and debating over tea. Since we are in the village, everyone knows who we are and what we do. It’s not just an office; it’s part of the neighborhood. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics to keep the records straight and communicate with the other offices. Life in Madhubani has its own rhythm, and we’ve adapted to it over the years. We work when there is work to be done, which is most of the time. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business. We focus on the ground reality of the jobs we take on. Our door is usually open if someone from the village needs to stop by and chat about a project.
