Avrelle Foundation

Avrelle Foundation is located in Madhubani, right in the Bada Bazar area. We are based at Pushpa Devi’s house, she is the wife of Dilip Kumar. The street is Karak Marg, and we are in Ward Number 10. Bada Bazar is always crowded and noisy, which we actually quite like. There is a lot of energy in the market. Pushpa Devi helps keep everything organized in the office. It is a small space, mostly filled with files and some extra stools for visitors. We do not have air conditioning, so we usually just keep the windows open and hope for a breeze from the street. Being in the middle of Madhubani means we see everyone passing by. We started this because we wanted to do something from within the community, not from some distant office block. It is a bit messy sometimes, especially when we have a lot of visitors at once, but we manage. Dilip Kumar is often around too, helping out with the heavier tasks. We do not use fancy letterheads or anything like that unless we really have to. Most of our work is just talking to people and trying to figure out how to help with local issues. It is a very hands-on way of doing things. Ward 10 is a good place to be if you want to know what is really going on in town. We stay busy with the local crowd and keep things simple.
