Swati Mini Rice Mill

Swati Mini Rice Mill is a small operation located near the Somani Petrol Pump at Shastri Chowk. This is in the District of Madhepura. Because we are a mini mill, we do not handle the huge volumes that the big factories do. We mostly serve the local farmers who bring in smaller loads of paddy. It is a convenient spot for them since it is right by the petrol pump and the main chowk. The mill itself is quite compact. We have one main machine that does most of the work, and it can be a bit temperamental sometimes. When it breaks, we usually have to fix it ourselves with whatever tools we have on hand. There is not a lot of room for storage, so we have to move the processed rice out quickly. The noise is quite loud because the building is small, so we usually wear earplugs. We have been at Shastri Chowk for a few years now. It is a busy intersection, so there is always something to watch while we are taking a break. We do not have a big sales team or anything like that. People just hear about us through word of mouth and show up with their bags of grain. It is a simple way of doing things, but it works for us and for the people in Madhepura who need their rice milled every season.
