S L V Jappani Quail & Country Chicken,

Running a place like S L V Jappani Quail & Country Chicken here on the Main Road in Maddur keeps us pretty busy from the moment the sun comes up. Most people in Maddur know where we are because of the traffic that always slows down right in front of our door. We have the quails in one section and the country chickens in the other, and there is always a lot of noise. It is a bit messy, but that is how it goes when you are dealing with live birds every day. My brother and I usually start around five in the morning to get everything ready for the customers who want the freshest meat for their Sunday lunch. We do not use any fancy machines; it is all done by hand, the way we learned years ago. The shop is at 624/8, and it gets really crowded on market days. Sometimes we run out of the country chicken early because people prefer the taste over the regular farm stuff. The quails are a bit more specialized, but we have a steady group of people who come specifically for those. We spend most of the day cleaning up or feeding the birds while waiting for the next truck to arrive with more stock. It is hard work and our clothes always smell like the coop by the end of the shift. But it is a living, and we like being right here on the main road where everything is happening.
