Jain Marble

Our shop, Jain Marble, sits right on the Chandigarh Ludhiana Highway. It’s a convenient spot because of the Katani Kalan Bus Stand Road being so close. We’re also right near the Dishehra Ground, which gets really packed during festival times. Having a business out here means we see a lot of traffic passing by on the highway. We deal in marbles, which is heavy, dusty work, but we've gotten used to it over the years. The shop isn't some big shiny showroom. It's a place where we keep our slabs and talk to customers who are usually in the middle of building or fixing up their homes. Being near the bus stand helps people find us, though sometimes the traffic gets a bit much. We spend a lot of our time just moving pieces around so people can see the different patterns in the stone. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do. The area around Katani Kalan is mostly residential and small shops, so we know a lot of the faces around here. On days when there’s an event at the Dishehra Ground, things get pretty loud, but that’s part of the location. We just keep the doors open and do our work. There’s no big secret to how we run things, we just stay here and wait for people who need some stone for their project. It’s a local business, run by locals, and we like it that way. It's been like this for years now.
