Down in Industrial Area-B, on Gill Road, you’ll find us at Shop No. 63 in the Bansal Complex. Vinod Bearing Store is exactly what it sounds like. We have shelves and shelves of bearings of every size you can think of. The air in here smells like industrial oil and metal, which is pretty much the smell of this whole neighborhood. Being in the Bansal Complex means we have a lot of other businesses around us, so there’s always someone moving crates or loading a truck nearby. We’ve been here long enough that we know where every single bearing is kept, even if the boxes look the same to anyone else. It’s a bit of a maze inside the shop sometimes. We don’t have a website or anything like that because most of our customers just walk in or call us when something in their factory breaks down. The counter is made of heavy wood and has been scratched up over the years by all the metal parts we slide across it. We open up early because the factories around Gill Road start their shifts before the sun is even up. It’s a lot of standing and searching through catalogs to find the right part number. Sometimes we have to order something special from out of town, but mostly we have what people are looking for right here on the shelf. It’s dusty, heavy work, but it keeps the machines in the area running.
