Vinay Kumar Jain Architect

My office is at 2723, Gurdev Nagar. It’s a place where I do my architectural drawings and talk to people about their buildings. I have been at this location for many years. It’s not a fancy studio with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a comfortable room with a big drafting table and my computer. I like the quiet of Gurdev Nagar because it lets me focus on the details of my work. Most of the people who come to see me are neighbors or people who heard about me from a friend. I don’t do much advertising. I think if you do a decent job, people will eventually find you. My days are usually filled with drawing plans and checking on construction sites. Sometimes I spend a long time just staring at a site map trying to figure out the best way to use the space. It’s not always exciting, but it’s what I do. I keep things very basic. I don't have a staff, so I do all the work myself. This means I know exactly what’s happening with every project. My desk is often a bit messy with pencils and paper scraps, but I know where everything is. It’s just a regular local business. I enjoy being an architect here and helping people build their homes. It’s a good way to spend my time. I’ve made many good friends in the neighborhood over the years.
