Vardhman Vastr

Vardhman Vastr is tucked away in the Industrial Area Extension A. Our address is No. 2793/7 A, which can be a bit tricky for people to find the first time they visit. It’s a dusty part of town with lots of trucks moving around constantly. We have a fair amount of space here, which is lucky because we deal with a lot of bulk material. The walls are just plain grey and the floor is concrete. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to see something pretty. We focus on the work. Every day is pretty much the same routine. We check the stock, talk to the suppliers, and make sure things are moving out of the warehouse. The air gets a bit thick in the summer, but we keep the big doors open for ventilation. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just handle clothes and textiles. Most of our time is spent on our feet. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet for hours. We like the quiet times because we can actually get some organizing done. Our desks are usually covered in invoices and samples. It’s a busy life in the industrial zone. We’ve been here long enough that the security guards at the gate know us by name. It’s a simple operation. We just do the best we can with what we have.
