If you’ve been to Ludhiana, you know it’s a city that never really stops moving. Street 34 is usually pretty busy with bikes and carts. We’ve got the industry name on the door but it’s a fairly modest setup inside. We use the ground floor mostly for the work and the upstairs for the office stuff. It’s a typical Punjab business house. There’s always tea being made and people coming by to talk about orders. We don't go in for any of that modern management style. We just know what needs to be done and we do it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’d rather spend the money on new equipment. We’ve been at this address for years. The neighbors know us as the Vardhman folks. It’s a bit loud with the machinery sometimes, but that’s just the sound of work. We keep our records in big ledgers and on one old computer. It works for us. It’s a bit crowded with all the boxes, but we manage to find what we need. We don't have any mission statements on the walls. We just come in, do the work, and hope for a good day. It is pretty simple and we like it that way.
