Upper India Special Castings Ltd. is located over in Dhandari Industries at the Focal Point. If you know the area, you know it’s where all the heavy lifting happens. Our shop is pretty much what you’d expect from a casting place. It’s hot, there’s soot on the walls, and the equipment is big and heavy. We don’t put on any airs here. We just work with metal all day. The Focal Point is a rough and tumble kind of place, and we fit right in. We’ve been operating out of Dhandari for a long time, and some of our guys have been here since the beginning. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or air-conditioned offices. Most of the time, the front door is wide open to let the heat out. We do castings for different industries, and it’s the kind of work that leaves you tired at the end of the day. Our neighbors are all doing similar things, so there’s a lot of noise and trucks moving in and out of the narrow lanes. Sometimes the power goes out, or a machine breaks down, and we just have to fix it and keep going. We don’t have a PR person or anyone to write fancy letters. We just take orders and try to get the metal poured right. It’s not always perfect, but we put in the effort every day. It's just simple industrial work for us.
