Our place is at D 130 in Phase 5 of the Focal Point. Unicross Bike'S has been part of this industrial landscape for a good while. It is a large building, but we use every inch of it for the production lines and storage. Walking through the doors, you’ll see rows of frames and tires waiting to be handled. We don’t have a receptionist sitting at a front desk; usually, you just walk in and find someone in the back. The noise of the machinery is constant from eight in the morning until we wrap up. It is a bit hot in the summer, but we’re used to it. We hire people from the local neighborhoods and many have stayed with us for years. There is a sense of routine that keeps the place going. We don’t bother with fancy brochures or expensive ads. We just make the bikes and send them out to the shops that sell them. The loading dock is always a busy spot with trucks coming and going. Sometimes things get mixed up or a shipment is late, and we have to scramble to fix it. That’s just life in a factory. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the work that needs to be finished by the end of the week. It’s practical, hard work, and we don’t try to make it sound like anything else.
