Based over on Pakhowal Road, my office has been part of this area for quite some time. It’s a busy stretch of road, but it’s a good location for people to find me. I spend most of my mornings going through site reports and the afternoons are usually for meeting people who want to build something new. My workspace is pretty simple. I have a big desk, a couple of chairs for visitors, and shelves crammed with building codes and old project files. I don’t go in for all that modern office decor; I prefer a place where I can actually get work done without worrying about scratching a glass table. Architecture is a lot of listening and then a lot of drawing. I try to be realistic about what can be built within a certain budget. People come here with big ideas, and it’s my job to put them into a plan that actually makes sense for the land they have. Pakhowal Road is always changing, with new shops and houses going up all the time. I’ve had a hand in a few of them over the years. It’s satisfying to drive past a building and remember when it was just a few lines on my desk. I don’t have a big team, just a few reliable people I work with to get the job done right. It keeps the work personal and manageable for everyone involved.
