Sunny Confectionery

Sunny Confectionery is located right by the Nal Stop in Gurudev Nagar. It is a very busy spot because so many people wait for the bus right outside our door every day. We see hundreds of different faces, though many of them are in a hurry and just grab a pack of gum or a bottle of water before their bus arrives. The shop is filled with all kinds of sweets and small snacks that are easy for people to carry. We have to stay on our toes because customers come in and out so quickly. During the rainy season, the floor gets very messy from all the wet shoes, and we are constantly mopping up to keep things from getting too slippery. We have a small radio that we keep playing in the background, usually some old songs or the local news. The shelves are mostly metal and they can be a bit noisy when we are restocking them in the evenings. We don't have a lot of storage space, so we get small deliveries almost every other day to keep things fresh. It can be a bit stressful when the bus stop is crowded and everyone wants something at the same time, but we manage to get through it. We’ve got a small stool where we can sit for a minute when it's quiet, but those moments don't last very long. We’ve been here for several years now and we've seen the area get more crowded. It’s a hectic place to work, but we like being in the middle of it.
