Suman Paint Works

Suman Paint Works is at number 1053 in Field Ganj, on Gaushala Road in the Taj Gang area. This is an old part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow and winding. You can’t really bring a big car through here easily. We have been working out of this small space for years. It’s mostly filled with paint cans, brushes, and mixing tools. The floor is covered in drips of different colors from all the years we’ve been matching shades for customers. It’s a humble place, not like those big modern stores you see in the malls. We know the history of almost every building in this mohalla because we’ve likely provided the paint for them at some point. The air here always feels a bit heavy with the smell of thinners and oil paints. We start our day when the neighborhood wakes up and keep going until the streetlights come on. Sometimes we have to move our stock around just to make room for a customer to stand inside. It’s a tight fit, but it’s our home. We don’t use any fancy marketing tricks. People just know where we are and what we do. It is good that we can find just about any color a person asks for, even if it takes a bit of digging through the old cans in the back. It’s honest work that keeps us connected to the neighborhood and the people who live here.
