Sood Confectionery

Our shop, Sood Confectionery, is tucked away in the Hingne Budrukh area of Janta Nagar. It is not a very big place, but we try to keep it packed with all the treats and sweets people in the neighborhood like to buy. We have been in this spot for a long time, and the walls are covered in shelves that we built ourselves many years ago. We usually start the day by sweeping the sidewalk out front and checking if any of the glass jars need refilling. It is a quiet kind of work, mostly just waiting for the school bell to ring when the kids come running in for their afternoon snacks. We don't have a lot of help, so it's usually just one of us here from morning until we close up the shop at night. The lighting in the back of the store is a bit dim, so we have to be very careful not to trip over the extra boxes of stock we keep on the floor. We use a small hand-held calculator to add up the bills, and we keep the cash in a wooden drawer. Sometimes the neighbors stop by just to ask about the weather or tell us some news about the street. We don't really do much to promote the shop. We just keep the lights on and make sure we have enough stock for the regulars who come in every day. It is a steady life, and we are happy to be part of the community here in Hingne Budrukh.
