Out in Vpo Bharowal Kalan, the pace of life is a bit different than what you might find in the bigger cities. Singh Manpreet runs the architecture practice right here in the Jagraon area. It’s a quiet spot, which is actually pretty good for focusing on the work. The office is part of the local landscape, and we see the same people passing by every day. We don’t have a flashy storefront or a big neon sign. It’s just a place where we sit down and get things drawn up. Sometimes a neighbor will pop their head in to say hello, or a tractor will rumble past outside. We keep our tools and papers scattered across a few large desks. It’s a very practical workspace without any unnecessary frills. Being in the village means we are close to the land and the people we actually build for. We spend our mornings checking over plans and our afternoons usually involve some local travel. The walls have a few old photos and some maps pinned up. It isn't a corporate setup by any means. It’s just a local office doing local work for the folks in and around Bharowal Kalan. We take things one day at a time and try to make sure everything we do is solid and makes sense for the area we live in, without worrying about being overly polished or fancy.
