I've been working out of 208-G in B.R.S. Nagar for quite a while now. Most days here start early with a lot of tea and some messy sketches spread across the big wooden desk. Architecture isn't always about the pretty pictures you see in magazines; it involves a lot of back-and-forth with contractors and making sure the measurements actually work when you get out on the dirt. People sometimes just drop by the office to talk about their house plans, and we sit around the old drafting table trying to figure things out together. B.R.S. Nagar is a good spot because it’s easy for folks to find us, though parking can be a real headache during the afternoon rush near the market. I usually have rolls of tracing paper everywhere and a computer that hums a bit too loud when I’m running the design software late at night. It’s just me and a couple of helpers keeping things moving here. We spend a lot of time visiting sites to check on the progress, so the office is often empty for a few hours in the middle of the day. If the door is locked, I’m probably out measuring a wall somewhere or talking to a mason about a brick detail. It’s hard work, and my shoes are always a bit dusty from the construction sites, but it is what we do. We just focus on getting the drawings right and making sure the buildings are solid.
