Singh Harjot Architect

You can find me over at House No.2 on Street No.1 in Shaheed Babadeep Singh Nagar. It’s just off Dhandra Road, which is a fairly well-known route around here. I’ve converted part of the space into an office where I do all my architectural work. It’s a very personal setup, and it definitely doesn't feel like a corporate environment. There are drawings pinned to the walls and stacks of building codes on the floor. I like working from here because it’s quiet and I can really focus on the lines I’m drawing. Sometimes the neighborhood kids are playing outside on Street No.1, and you can hear them, but that just makes it feel more like home. I handle the whole process myself, from the first sketch to the final plans. This means I spend a lot of time at my drafting table or out at sites checking on how things are looking. People who come to see me usually appreciate that they get to talk to me directly without any middleman. I’m not interested in being the biggest firm in the city. I just want to do good, solid work for the people who live in and around Dhandra Road. It’s a busy life, but it’s honest work. If you’re looking for my house, it’s the one with the architectural books visible through the window. That’s where I spend most of my time, just getting things finished for my clients.
