I’ve got my office at 39 Sant Fateh Singh Nagar, which is right along Dugri Road. It’s a decent spot for an architecture practice because it’s easy for people to find but doesn't feel like it’s in the middle of a chaotic city center. Inside, you’ll find plenty of blueprints and rolls of tracing paper. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but I know exactly where every drawing is. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and the space reflects that experience. There are old models on the shelves and books that have been flipped through a thousand times. I don’t employ a huge staff. It’s mostly just me and occasionally someone helping out with the drafting. This means when you come to talk about a building, you’re talking to the person who actually draws the lines. Dugri Road is a familiar place for me, and I like being part of the community here. I don’t use fancy software just for the sake of it; I use what works to get the plans finished correctly. People usually come in with a lot of questions, and I sit down with them and we go through everything bit by bit. It’s a slow process sometimes, but it’s the right way to do things. The office isn't fancy, but it’s where the work gets done and that’s what matters most to me. It is a quiet place that keeps me focused.
