Sidh Fabrics Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away on Street No. 5 in Mahavir Jain Colony. You have to look for number 3125 to find us. Sunder Nagar is a place where you hear the sound of machines and people talking all through the day. We have stacks of different fabrics piled up high in the corners. The smell of new cloth is everywhere in the building. It’s a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot of stock in a small space, but we manage somehow. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we know where everything is kept. Most of our neighbors are also in the same kind of business, so there is always a lot of loading and unloading going on in the street. We’ve been at this for a while now. The workers here have been with us for a long time and they know the different types of weave just by touching the fabric. It’s not a place for sitting around. We are usually busy cutting, measuring, or packing things up for someone who needs them by evening. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that’s when we take a small break. Otherwise, it’s just the sound of scissors and plastic being wrapped. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address and the work we do. It gets very stuffy in the summer but we keep the fans going.
