Shweta Khosla Architect

Our office is at 568-A, S.S.P House on Link Road, which is right near Fountain Chowk in Civil Lines. It’s a well-known area, so most people don’t have much trouble finding us. The S.S.P House is an older building with a lot of character, and we like being here. The office has high ceilings and big windows, which is great for natural light, but it also means it’s hard to keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Shweta is usually in the middle of it all, surrounded by books and folders. We have a lot of physical samples of things like wood flooring and paint swatches cluttering up the corners. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We don’t really follow a strict corporate schedule; if the work needs doing, we stay until it’s done. It’s a very practical workspace. We aren't into the latest office trends; we just have sturdy desks and good chairs. Most of the time is spent doing the quiet work of drafting and calculating. We see a fair amount of people coming in and out, mostly folks from around the neighborhood or contractors we work with. It feels like a steady, normal place to work. We just show up, do the drawings, and try to make sure everything is as accurate as possible. It gets noisy with the traffic outside, but we just shut the windows.
