Sharma Gift Palace

We are located at 21 Shiv Complex on B.R Street. It’s a straightforward shop. I open up around ten every morning and the first thing I do is move the display stands out onto the walkway. We have a lot of things packed into a small area. There are shelves full of mugs, toys, and those decorative items people put on their TV stands. The Shiv Complex is an older building, so things break sometimes and we just have to fix them ourselves. I spend a lot of time talking to the other shop owners while we wait for customers to come in. B.R Street can be quite quiet during the middle of the day, but it picks up in the evening when people are out for a walk. I do all the gift wrapping myself. I’m not the fastest at it, but I make sure the tape stays put. Sometimes the rolls of paper get tangled and I end up wasting a bit. It’s just me running the place most of the time. I have a small stool behind the counter where I sit and read the newspaper when it's slow. The floor is tile and it’s seen better days, but it does the job. We don't have any big advertisements or a fancy sign. People just know we are here in the complex when they need a gift.
