Shanker Karyana Store

Over at 7496, 10, Abdullapur Basti, you will find Shanker Karyana Store. We are tucked away near the Mata Rani Mandir here in Ludhiana. It’s a busy neighborhood and we’ve been part of it for a long time. People around here know us for being the place where you can get your pulses, oils, and other kitchen staples. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack things high up on the shelves. It takes a bit of reaching sometimes. I’ve lived in Ludhiana my whole life and opening this store felt like the right thing to do for the family. We see the same faces every day. Mrs. Gupta comes for her tea leaves every Tuesday, and the kids from the school nearby always stop for sweets. It makes the day go by faster when you have people to talk to. We don't have any fancy computers for billing, just a pen and a notepad. It works fine for us. Sometimes we run out of a specific brand of soap, but there is always something else on the shelf. The 141003 area is home to us. We keep the floor swept and the jars filled. It’s hard work staying open late, but someone has to be here for the people coming home from work. We are just a local karyana shop doing our bit for the street.
