Shallu Paints Hardware

Shallu Paints Hardware is over on Hambra Road in the Haibowal Kalan area. We are in Shop No 1, right near the Radha Swami Satsang Ghar in Padra and the Kansara Bazar. It’s a lively part of town, and there is always something happening on the road outside with people coming and going. Our shop is a mix of paint cans and hardware tools. You can usually find me behind the counter, probably covered in a bit of dust from the bags of cement or putty. We have a lot of regular customers who live in the surrounding lanes. They come in for a liter of paint or a handful of nails for a quick fix. The shop isn't huge, so things tend to get stacked pretty high near the ceiling. We have to use a tall ladder to reach the top shelves where we keep the less common items. Sometimes the mixing machine for the paints makes a lot of noise, which makes it hard to hear the phone when it rings. Near the Satsang Ghar, the atmosphere is usually calm, but the traffic on Hambra Road can be quite something during the peak morning hours. We try to keep the front of the shop clear so people can pull their bikes up easily. It’s a family-run kind of place, nothing like those big showrooms you see in the city center. We just focus on getting supplies to the people nearby.
