Select Gift Shop

The shop is right opposite Durga Mata Mandir on S P Road in the Gill area. It is a loud part of town because of all the vehicles passing by all day long. I usually get here early to sweep the front before the sun gets too high. Inside, it’s mostly shelves filled with whatever we could get our hands on that week. We have cards, some plastic toys, and those little glass showpieces that everyone seems to like for some reason. The space isn’t huge, so you have to watch your elbows when you walk between the aisles. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit more crowded. We spend a lot of time just taping up boxes or helping someone find a gift that doesn't cost too much money. It is a simple life. Sometimes we sit outside on stools when it's quiet and just watch the people going into the temple across the road. The street gets very dusty, especially in the summer months, so the glass cases always look like they need a cleaning. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up something quick. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open the doors at ten and stay until the lights on the main road come on. It’s what we do.
