We are set up at Focal Point. It’s an industrial area, so it’s the right place for making detergents. The smell of soap is pretty much everywhere around our building. We have the mixing vats and the packing machines running most of the day. It’s a bit noisy, but you get used to the hum after a while. We aren't making anything fancy, just the stuff people use to wash their clothes and keep things clean. We spend a lot of time looking at different powders and liquids to make sure the mix is right. The guys on the floor have been with us for a long time, so they know the machines better than anyone. It’s a lot of hard work, especially when we have to move the heavy bags of raw materials. We don't have a big marketing team; we just focus on the production and getting the orders filled. The office is just a small room where we keep the ledger and take orders over the phone. Sometimes the supply of ingredients is late, and we have to shift the schedule around, which is always a bit of a headache. But usually, things run okay. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a local business, and we are fine with that. No big speeches, just soap making. We try to be helpful when people call in with questions about their shipments.
