Sant Sachcha Baba Herbal Pharmacy

Our place is called Sant Sachcha Baba Herbal Pharmacy. We are located in Civil City, which is over in the Chander Nagar area of Civil Lines. It is a bit quieter around here than it is in the main city markets. The air inside the shop always smells like dried leaves, roots, and different seeds. We spend a lot of our time grinding things up by hand and weighing out various powders on the scales. It is old-fashioned kind of work. We do not have any of those big automated machines that the large companies use. Most of what we do is done by hand with simple tools. We have glass jars lining the walls from the floor all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it is a bit hard to find the exact jar you need if you are not used to the layout. We have been here in Civil Lines for a good many years. People from the neighborhood come in looking for something for a stomach ache or just some simple herbs for cooking. We do not use any big words or try to act like we are doctors. We just know what these plants are used for from experience. The floor is made of old stone and it stays nice and cool even when the sun is hitting the building. We have a small wooden table where we do all the packing. It is a slow pace. We just take things one day at a time here.
