Sagar Chemicall & Fertilizer

Down in Mullanpur at Five Star Colony, specifically unit 102, we run Sagar Chemicall & Fertilizer. It’s a specific kind of place because of what we sell. The bags of fertilizer are heavy and they have a very distinct smell that stays in your clothes long after you go home. We get a lot of people coming in from the nearby fields or people who just have a small garden in the colony. The shop is basically just walls lined with different sacks and bottles. I spend a lot of time moving things around. It gets really busy when the planting season starts, and then it’s quiet for a while during the harvest. Mullanpur is growing, but it still feels like a small place where everyone knows what you're up to. I keep a ledger on the desk to track everything, and it’s usually messy with ink stains. We have a small bench outside where people sit and wait if I’m busy moving stock in the back. Sometimes the bags rip and I have to sweep up the pellets. It’s just part of the daily grind. We don’t have a website or anything like that. If people need us, they just come to 102 in the colony. It’s pretty straightforward, and we’ve been doing it this way for years without much changing. My hands are usually stained from the labels, and the dust from the sacks gets everywhere, but that is just the nature of the work.
