Rattan Industries (India)

Rattan Industries (India) is located on Gill Road, right across from the telephone exchange in V.P.O. Gill. If you know the area, you know it’s a lot of workshops and small factories all lined up. We have been here for a long time. The building is a bit older and has seen better days but it holds up well. We do a lot of heavy work here so there is always the sound of machinery and tools clanging around. It can get pretty hot in the summer but we have some fans going to keep us moving. The staff is mostly local guys from around the village or nearby parts of town. We don't really have a front office with a receptionist. Most people just walk into the main gate and find one of us on the floor. We aren't big on formalities. If there's work to be done, we do it. The road outside is usually blocked with trucks and tempos loading up goods. It’s a busy part of the city. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or advertisements. Our name is on the wall and people know where to find us. It’s a bit messy sometimes with scrap and tools everywhere, but that’s just how it is when you’re actually making things. We start work early and try to get as much done as we can before it gets too dark outside and everyone heads home.
