Raja Book Depot & Gift House

My shop, Raja Book Depot & Gift House, is right near Guru Nanak High School at Pankore Naka. Since we are in Janta Nagar and so close to the school, we get a lot of students coming in for notebooks and pens. It’s a small place, and the stacks of books sometimes get quite high. I also keep a section for gifts, mostly things like diaries, pens sets, or small items that teachers or students might like. The floor is concrete and the shelves are a bit dusty because the wind blows in from the street. During the exam season, it gets really busy here. Parents come in looking for specific textbooks and the kids are always hunting for the latest gel pens. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the school bell rings and a crowd rushes in. I’ve lived in Janta Nagar for a long time, so I know many of the parents. We don't do anything fancy here. I just write down what people need on a notepad and try to order it if it’s not in stock. There’s a wooden counter where I sit, and usually, there are a few stacks of paper waiting to be sorted. It’s just a neighborhood book shop that also has some nice gift stuff on the side. Nothing more, nothing less. I usually have a small light on over my desk so I can see the fine print on the invoices late in the day.
