R. K. Tools Company

You can find R. K. Tools Company at B-183/1 right in the middle of the Industrial Estate. It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to watch where you step because there’s usually some metal shavings or a bit of oil on the ground. The building itself is a big concrete structure that echoes whenever someone drops a heavy wrench or starts up a machine. It gets quite loud during the day with the neighboring shops also doing their work, so we often have to shout a bit to be heard over the din. We have a large sliding metal door at the front that stays open most of the time to let the breeze in, otherwise, it gets way too stuffy inside. The shelves are filled with all sorts of heavy tools and spare parts, all organized in a way that only we really understand. There’s a small office area blocked off by some wooden partitions where the phone sits and where we keep the logbooks. The clock on the wall stopped working a few months ago, but nobody has bothered to fix it since we all just go by the sunlight or our watches. It’s a place for hard work and getting your hands dirty. We take our breaks sitting on some old crates near the entrance, watching the trucks go by on the estate road. It’s a simple, gritty life here.
