R K Gift Center

Running R K Gift Center keeps us busy since we are right near the City Railway Station in Gill. You can hear the trains rolling by sometimes from the front door. We have lots of different items packed into the shop for travelers. It is a good spot for people getting off the train who forgot to buy a present or just want something small for themselves. We have been in this location for a good while. The shop isn't huge but we make the space work for us. Every morning we open up the shutters and set out some of the displays. It can get dusty with the traffic from the station so we are always cleaning. We don't do much advertising or anything like that. People just walk in as they pass by. It is a simple life running a gift shop in a busy area. Sometimes it’s quiet for hours and other times five people come in at once. We handle it as it comes. We’ve got toys, cards, and some household bits and pieces on the back shelves. It’s mostly just family working here. We know the other shop owners around Gill pretty well by now. The station area is always moving. We try to keep things stocked up so people have choices. It is a lot of work but it feels right for us. There is no big corporate office. Just us behind the counter.
