Being right near the railway station on Barne Road means there is always noise. Punjab Watch And Radio Company sits near the corner where Kasba Peth meets G.T Road. It’s number 82, a building that’s seen better days but it stays standing. The trains go by and you can feel the vibration sometimes when you’re trying to hold a pair of tweezers steady. I’ve been fixing things here for a long time. We do watches, mostly the mechanical ones that people still value, and we still look at radios too. A lot of travelers coming from the station stop by because they realized their watch is wrong or they need a cheap one for their trip. The shop is a bit cramped because I keep a lot of spare parts in old tin boxes. G.T Road is always busy, so there is a lot of soot that comes in if I leave the door open too wide. Kasba Peth is a good area with lots of history, and I feel like this shop is just a small part of that. We don’t do anything fancy, just plain repairs and selling what we have on the shelves.
