Punjab Steels

Our place is right by Sherpur Chowk, tucked away near the Amikunj Cross Road. It’s a hectic intersection and there is always someone honking outside while we are trying to count the inventory. We have been doing the steel thing here for a long time and the building has seen better days, honestly. The walls have some scuffs and the floor is always covered in a bit of grit from the shipments. We keep a lot of different sizes of steel in the back and it can be a real headache to find a specific piece when the warehouse gets messy. Usually, there’s a couple of us in the small office area drinking tea and going over the delivery notes. It’s not a big operation with lots of layers, just us trying to make sure the right stuff goes out on the right truck. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. Dealing with the traffic at the cross road is the hardest part of the day, especially when the big trailers are trying to turn in. People stop by all the time asking for directions since we are right at the corner. We just do what we do and try to stay on top of the piles of metal. It is a straightforward job and we don’t spend much time worrying about how the front office looks to visitors.
