Punjab Paints & Hardware Store

We are located on Gill Road, right across from where Arora Palace is. It is a landmark most people in the area know. The store is full of paint cans and they are stacked quite high. Sometimes you have to be careful walking through the aisles because we have crates sitting out in the middle of the floor. We also keep a good amount of hardware like locks, hinges, and various hand tools. It gets pretty loud with the traffic outside, but we do not mind it much. Every morning usually starts the same way with a cup of tea while we see what needs to be put back on the shelves. We have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years we have been here. The shop itself stays the same though. The walls have scuffs and the counter is a bit scratched up. It is not a showroom; it is just a place where people come to get things for their work. If someone needs a specific paint color, we try to get it right with what we have in the shop. Most of our customers are just local folks needing a quick fix for a leak or a fresh coat for a room. We do not spend time on decorating the place. The shelves are for holding heavy stock, not for looking nice. In the summer, it gets warm, so we keep the front doors open. People come in asking for advice on brushes or pipes, and we tell them what we have learned.
