Preet Ayurvedic & General Store

I spend most of my day sitting here at 315, Chander Nagar. It’s a busy part of Ludhiana, especially when the schools let out and the traffic picks up on the main road. Preet Ayurvedic & General Store isn't a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep a mix of things. You’ll see some old wooden shelves filled with herb packets and glass jars, then right next to them are the usual plastic bottles of shampoo and soap everyone uses. The floor is concrete and stays a bit cool even when it’s hot outside. My brother helps out sometimes when the stock comes in from the wholesale market. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around or dusting off the bottles because the street dust gets everywhere. People from around Civil City come in for their regular stuff, maybe some honey or just a packet of biscuits. It’s quiet in the afternoons, so I usually sit on the stool near the door and watch the scooters go by. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, but we haven't gotten around to changing the wiring yet. It’s just how it is. There’s always someone stopping by to ask for directions or looking for a specific root they heard about for a cough. We just try to keep everything on the shelves where we can find it when someone asks.
