You can find Pillai Prem Raj Architect at 102, Street Number 6 in Anandvihar. We’re tucked away in Phullanwal Village, which is near Pakhowal Road and the Basant Avenue Post Office. It’s a bit of a long address, but it’s a quiet residential area that suits us well. The office is part of a building where life is happening all around. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood while we work on our designs. It’s not a high-rise office building with elevators and security guards. We have a simple setup with our drawing boards and computers. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to find the right street if you’re not familiar with Phullanwal, but it’s a nice walk once you’re here. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and talking about how buildings fit into the local landscape. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the area well. We like being part of a real community rather than being stuck in a commercial park. There’s a sense of history in this part of town that you don't get elsewhere. We just focus on our work and try to be helpful when people come by with questions. It’s a relaxed place where the kettle is usually on and the work gets done at its own pace. Sometimes the internet is slow, but we manage to get everything sent out eventually. We take our breaks on the balcony to clear our heads.
