Partap Parts

If you head down G.T. Road and turn into Miller Ganj, you’ll find us. Partap Parts has been operating out of this spot for quite some time. It’s a gritty part of town, full of small shops and big lorries, but it’s where all the action is for spare parts and metalwork. The shop is usually a bit of a mess, with bits of iron and steel tucked away on shelves and stacked in the corners. We don't bother much with sweeping every five minutes because as soon as you do, more dust settles. The guys here have been working with their hands since they were kids. They can tell if a part is right just by the weight of it in their palm. It gets really busy in the afternoons when the sun is beating down on the corrugated roof. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger, though most of the deals are done with a handshake and a few words. The noise from G.T. Road is constant, like a background hum of engines and horns that you eventually stop hearing. We don't have any big signs or flashing lights. People know where we are because we’ve been here, doing the same thing day in and day out. It’s honest work, and even though the floors are stained with oil and the walls are dark, it’s a place where things actually get made and fixed.
