Avin Alloys

Avin Alloys is tucked away over at No. 12190 Street No. 1. If you’re looking for us, just look for the place with the stacks of metal out front. It’s not the quietest street in the world, especially when the loaders are moving stuff around. We deal with all kinds of alloys here. It’s heavy work and my hands are almost always stained with something that won’t wash off easily. We started this because we knew the trade and had some space to work with. It isn’t a polished office with air conditioning in every corner. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. Most of the time, the guys are out there dealing with the heat and the grinders. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go on this street, but we just stay consistent. We get orders for specific mixes of metal and we make sure they get weighed out right. It’s a lot of checking and re-checking. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch if a machine acts up, but that’s part of the trade. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. People find us because they need metal and they know we are here. It’s just honest work in a dusty part of town. We take pride in just getting through the day’s list without any major fuss.
