Parkash Clotting Works

Parkash Clotting Works is tucked away in New Janta Nagar Street No 4 2771. It’s a bit of a maze back here, but once you find us, you’ll see heaps of fabric everywhere. We spend most of our hours cutting and sewing. The machines make a constant humming sound that we’ve grown used to over the years. It’s hard work on the back, but seeing a finished piece makes it worth it. We don't have a big storefront with lights. It’s just a workshop where we focus on the thread and needle. People from around the street bring us their repairs or ask for new things to be made. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of thread and have to wait for the delivery guy. It’s a simple life. We don't use fancy software to track things; we mostly write it down in a big ledger on the main table. There’s dust from the cotton in the air, but we keep the windows open when the weather is nice. Every day is different depending on what the customers need. One day it’s heavy coats, the next it’s light shirts. We’ve been at 2771 for a long time. It feels like home more than a business. We just keep sewing and hope people like what we do.
