Triveni Micron Products is tucked away on Street 7 in New Janta Nagar. If you walk down the road, you’ll hear the hum of the machines before you see our sign. We make small parts, the kind of things people don't think about until they break. The shop floor is always a bit oily, and there is a specific smell of cut metal that never really goes away. I spend most of my time checking measurements and making sure nothing is vibrating too much. It’s just a few of us working here. We have some old machines that we keep running with a bit of extra care and some new ones that are a bit more temperamental. Customers usually come in with a broken piece of metal and ask if we can make a new one just like it. It takes a lot of patience to get the sizes exactly right. New Janta Nagar is a busy area, so there’s always something going on outside our door. Sometimes we have to move the crates of finished parts onto the street to make room for a delivery. It’s not a big corporate factory, just a local workshop where we put in our hours and go home. We like the work because it’s practical. You can see what you’ve made at the end of every day, even if it is just a pile of tiny bolts.
