Rama Dori House

Rama Dori House is located in New Hargobind Nagar, right at House No. 6281 in Block No. 23. We are quite near the Neela Jhanda Gurudwara, so you can often hear the prayers from our doorstep. We specialize in doris, threads, and different kinds of cords used for clothing and bags. Our shop is small and every inch of the walls is covered in colorful spools. It looks a bit chaotic to an outsider, but we can find any color you ask for in about ten seconds. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time and have seen it change a lot. My father was the one who really got things moving here. Now it’s just us keeping the tradition going. We don't have any big mission statement or corporate goals. We just want to make sure the tailors and small factories around here have the supplies they need. Sometimes the shipment of raw thread is late and we have to scramble to keep up, but that’s just how it goes. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the neighbors while we work. It’s a friendly place. We don't do any fancy marketing. People know us because we’ve been here forever and we don't overcharge. If you need a specific type of cord for a suit or a drawstring, we probably have it. It’s simple work but it keeps us connected to the local community.
