Manpreet Bag Centre

Our shop, Manpreet Bag Centre, is tucked away in Kucha No 4 in Hargobind Nagar. Most people find us because we are so close to Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib. You can often hear the prayers from across the way while we are working. It’s a quiet enough street most mornings until the local market picks up. We’ve got all sorts of bags hanging up on the walls and from the ceiling. We try to keep things that the locals can afford and use every day. Whether it's a bag for groceries or a school bag for the kids, we usually have a few options. The shop at 648 is not huge, so things get a bit cramped when we get a new shipment in. I spend a lot of time rearranging the stock so people can actually walk through the door. It’s a family-run thing, really. My uncle started it, and now I’m here most days. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in when they need something. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it's slow. The neighbors are nice, and we all look out for each other's shops. It’s a simple life. We just sell bags and try to make sure they are sturdy enough for the price. If the handle breaks, come back and we will see if we can stitch it. That’s just how we do things here every day.
