Manjit Confectionery

If you’re ever walking down Tower Road near the Focal Point, you’ve probably seen Manjit Confectionery. We aren't a big chain store, just a small, independent shop where we sell snacks, sweets, and the basic things people need every day. I spend most of my day behind the counter, chatting with the regulars who stop by for their morning tea or a quick snack after their shift. The shelves are usually packed tight with glass jars full of colorful candies and various packets of biscuits. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once, but we always make it work. My wife helps me out in the evenings, and we try our best to keep everything fresh and tidy. The Focal Point area is always busy with people working in the nearby offices and factories, so we see a lot of different faces throughout the day. We get the fresh bread delivery very early in the morning, usually before the sun is even up. It can get a bit dusty with all the trucks passing by on Tower Road, so I’m always wiping down the front window or the counter. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights, just the stuff people want at a fair price. It’s a simple life, running this shop. We’ve known some of our customers for years, watching their kids grow up and start coming in on their own. It’s more than just selling sweets to us; it’s being part of the daily routine for everyone.
