Makkar Komaldeep Architect

Our office is at 554-E in B.R.S. Nagar. It’s where Makkar and the rest of us spend most of our time. Architecture is a lot of sitting and staring at screens or big sheets of paper. The office is tucked away in a residential block, so it’s a bit more peaceful than being on a main road. We have a lot of tall shelves filled with old project files and books. Sometimes the place feels a bit cramped because we keep every drawing we’ve ever made. There’s a constant sound of the plotter printing out big sheets. We usually have a lot of pens and pencils scattered around, half-empty mugs of tea, and rulers that always seem to go missing when you need them. It’s a real working office, not some showroom. People from the neighborhood often see us coming and going at odd hours. We might be heading out to a construction site or just getting back from a meeting. It’s a lot of hard work and making sure the math is right. We don’t do anything fancy with the office decor; we just need good light and a sturdy table. B.R.S. Nagar is a nice area to be based in. We’ve grown accustomed to the rhythms of the street outside. Most days are just about getting through the drawings and making sure the client’s ideas actually work on paper. It takes a lot of patience to get everything right and finish the job.
