Mahendra Singh Karyana Store is my place in Ludhiana, located at 18701/51, Qila Mohalla. If you are in the area, we are right by the back side of Baba Budha. It is a karyana store, which basically means we deal in all the heavy stuff like sacks of wheat flour, different types of pulses, and large containers of cooking oil. It is hard work sometimes, moving those bags around, but it is what we do. The Qila Mohalla streets are quite old and can be a bit tight, so it feels very traditional around here. We have all the daily essentials too, like spices, sugar, and tea. I usually have the radio playing softly in the background while I wait for customers. The building is a bit worn, and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it serves its purpose. People in Ludhiana like to have their karyana items fresh and of good quality, so we try to keep the stock moving. Being near Baba Budha means we get a lot of local foot traffic. It’s not a fancy shop with glass doors or anything. It’s just Mahendra Singh Karyana Store, with wooden counters and old-style scales. We’ve been at 18701/51 for quite some time, and we know exactly what our neighbors are looking for when they walk in. It’s a simple business, and we just take it one day at a time, serving the people of Qila Mohalla.
